After the “shine” of a new cricket bat wears off, one of the most commonly neglected areas becomes the toe. Whether you never bothered to cover it because it was left bare, or the rubber toe guard (that was on the bat when you bought it) came off, your pride and joy can quickly become the victim of the toe splitting or cracking. There are a number of ingredients thrown into the mixture, so there are a couple of properties to Resin Toe Guards. They have some softer, rubbery-type elements within the blend, meaning they will have some “give” when digging out Yorkers or tapping the bat on the ground. They also have a hard and smooth finish, making the bat easier to slide in and out of the crease (when running between the wickets) in comparison to rubber toe guards which often “stick” into the ground.

Also in comparison to rubber ones, our Resin Toe Guard is not glued to the toe. The concoction of materials found in the special mixture makes it chemically react and bind with the timber. Essentially, this means that it cannot simply be ‘peeled’ off, and will (more often than not) require either sanding or repetitive use in order to wear it back down to the bare timber.

After it is applied, the Resin Toe Guard is then custom shaped to reduce the chance of it chipping or snapping off, while establishing a classy but functional extension of the blade.
