Description
Cricket Bat Handle Replacement
Cricket bat handles can occasionally split, crack and break. This occurs as handles absorb much of the shock from hitting a cricket ball with the blade. However, bat handles will often act as a ‘fuse’, meaning that damage to the handle will not impact on the effectiveness or quality of the bat – even after a handle replacement. At Keith Dudgeon Cricket Specialists, we offer a Cricket Bat Handle Replacement service.
This process includes:
– Measuring the dimensions of your old/broken handle
– Removal of the broken handle from the blade
– Fitment and gluing of a new, first grade cane handle into the splice
– Shaping the handle to your preferences (usually as per the old handle)
– Application of a new grip
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How long does this process take?
A: Please allow approximately 5 business days from when we receive your bat for this process to be completed.
Q: Do the current stickers stay on the bat?
A: Yes. We do not remove the stickers during this process; however, over time they may shift, and as a result, they will not remain entirely intact. You will notice that the stickers on the front and back of the splice will be missing a portion in the shape of a ‘V’, as we are required to cut through them to remove the old handle.
Q: Is it possible to replace the old Gray Nicolls/New Balance/Kookaburra/etc stickers with new ones?
A: Unfortunately, the well-known companies do not allow us to re-sell their stickers because people have used them on counterfeit bats in the past. Therefore, the companies decided to stop the re-sale of their stickers in order to eliminate this counterfeiting issue.
