Dunlop/Slazenger Bradman Framed Bat Collection (2000 Edition)

$4,500.00

Description

Sir Donald Bradman is the most revered and highly regarded name in the history of cricket. In 1948, “The Don” finished his career with the highest test batting average the game has ever seen – 99.94.

To celebrate this incredible career, Dunlop/Slazenger – **along with the endorsement of The Bradman Museum** – produced a strictly limited range of commemorative cricket bats from 1993 through to 2001 in honour of The Don’s achievements.

Produced in the year 2000, this high class edition of the Bradman Framed Bat Collection is number 178 of only 334 (Bradman’s highest test match score) ever made. It features an English Willow cricket bat signed by The Don (with the wood selected by Bradman himself) along with a portrait of him – hand-painted by Dave Thomas, a 2 x Archibald Prize finalist – down at the toe-end. The outer casing contains a plaque that provides a brief overview of Bradman’s cricket career, as well as 6 images of him in action to go along with some of his other statistical achievements. There is a Certificate of Authenticity with fully authenticated and matching numbers attached to the back of the casing.

This magnificent piece of history comes beautifully custom boxed and framed, and would not look out of place in an executive room in the office, or the pool room at home.

Size: 1170mm (L) x 560mm (W) x 100mm (D), and weighs approximately 11kg.

** PLEASE NOTE **

Sir Donald Bradman’s name has been trademarked by The Bradman Museum, meaning only products that have been endorsed by them are permitted to be re-sold. As mentioned above, this piece – as well as all other genuine Bradman Framed Bat Collection pieces of memorabilia – were all endorsed by The Bradman Museum prior to their production.
