Cricket Bat Rubber Toe Guard – Fitted
It is well known amongst avid cricketers that the toe of a cricket bat is one of its most vulnerable areas. Despite this, it is becoming increasingly popular for bats to be sold without any toe protection. Consequently, there is increasing demand for toe protection to be fitted after the purchase of a new bat. Rubber toe guards assist with repelling moisture, as well as limiting damage caused by Yorkers (swelling and splitting of the toe). At Keith Dudgeon Cricket Specialists, we offer a Rubber Toe Guard fitment service, which can be completed within approximately 2 business days from when we receive your bat.
This process involves:
– Sanding the toe of the bat in preparation
– Gluing and application of the toe guard
– Allowing approximately 24 hours for the glue to set
– Trimming and custom fitting of the toe guard
It is also possible to buy a Toe Guard Pack (for $10) from our website so that you can complete this process yourself. However, there are particular steps that we take (during our Rubber Toe Guard fitment service) which assists with the toe guard adhering to the timber more effectively than it would via a typical application. You may find that – without the added steps included in our procedure – the rubber may peel or lift along the edges, reducing the longevity of the toe guard.
